In addition to her 5-day workshop here at The Feldenkrais Institute of New York, Ruthy Alon will teach this free evening for the public. This is a rare opportunity to meet Ruthy and experience her teaching in person, as it will be the last time that Ruthy will present her complete basic program in the US. Ruthy is one of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais’ original students and has developed the innovative Bones for Life program over the last 10 years. This groundbreaking program offers mindful movement processes for safe command of bone building forces, optimal posture and biological optimism. Bones for Life promotes supple vitality, harmonious movement, and a healthier body. The 5-day workshop program is open to the public. The program teaches:
- Conditioning bone strength and resistance with dynamic movement and weight bearing posture.
- Designing posture in a reliable anti gravity axis.
- Coordinating natural patterns of movement.
- Neuro-motor strategies for the safety of vulnerable joints.
- Springy pulsations of pressure for upgrading bone withstanding.

"Perspectives on Walking "
A FREE Evening with Jeff Haller, Ph.D.

In addition to his 3-day advanced training here at The Feldenkrais Institute of New York, Jeff Haller, Ph.D., will present this free evening. Participants will experience 2 Awareness Through Movement lessons around the balanced, easy walking. Themes of the evening will include:
- Relationships and timing of the bones to the walking surface.
- The direction of forces through the joints of the skeleton.
- The shift of tonus from one leg to the other.
- How the heel relates to the floor for stability and walking.
- The organization of the spine in rotation and counter-rotation.
- The movement of the head and its support.
