EVENING WORKSHOPS:
- The Balanced Runner (Saturday, July, 12th)
- FREE 1-day Introduction to Feldenkrais (Sunday, July 20th)
THE BALANCED RUNNER
Saturday, July 12th, 1:00 - 6:30 pm
with Jae Gruenke, GCFP
Your individual running style isnt set in stone. While a good training program improves strength and endurance, the coordination that reduces wear and tear and improves your efficiency needs a more specific approach .
In this workshop we will combine running with several Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® lessons to reveal the fundamental elements of good form. The lessons create a learning environment designed to help you integrate and adopt healthier, more efficient, technically masterful running skills. Participants will learn to:
- Use the core muscles specific to running
- Align the hips and knees to reduce ankle and foot strain
- Coordinate the upper and lower body for power
In addition, people who work with runners will understand better the important differences between running and walking, and how to help clients with running-related goals. Participants will leave the workshop with a checklist of form improvements theyve learned to implement and an audio CD to help reinforce the effects of the workshop.
- Date: Saturday, July 12th
- Time: 1:00 pm - 6:30 pm.
- Tuition: $90 in advance, $100 at the door. (Includes the audio CD)
- Call ahead to register: (212) 727-1014
